Missouri S&T is seeking a Senior Admissions Counselor for Diversity Recruitment.

Job Description

Meet with prospective students and families via daily visits, special events and other activities with special emphasis on visiting with students from populations identified as underrepresented among the S&T undergraduate population.

Coordinate recruitment travel related to high school visits, college fairs, community college visits and off campus recruitment events targeted to institutions or student populations identified as underrepresented among the S&T undergraduate population.

In collaboration with Recruitment Marketing and Enrollment Development and Student Diversity Initiatives, plan and execute a communication plan to recruit student populations identified as underrepresented among the S&T undergraduate population, including but not limited to, print, telecommunication, texting and social media. Individually communicate to all URM inquiry and admitted student undergraduate populations regardless of territory assignment. Attend meetings with external departments, such as Student Diversity Initiatives to share knowledge and collaborate on activities.

In collaboration with Student Financial Assistance, plan and execute a communication plan to effectively recruit target undergraduate student populations (ethnic and gender minorities) identified as underrepresented among the S&T undergraduate population and work with Recruitment Marketing and Enrollment Development to effectively communicate the scholarship and aid opportunities and application process to targeted populations.

Plan and execute regular meetings with offices engaged in support of a diverse population on campus to ensure collaboration and communication including but not limited to Recruitment Marketing and Enrollment Development, Student Diversity Initiatives, Chief Diversity Officer, Student Success Programs, and Academic Programs, etc. Coordinate with URM-focused student organizations when planning recruitment events or on ways we can support student-led Student Diversity Initiatives events.

Participate in Admissions recruitment events, outreach, campus responsibilities, training, meetings and other office duties as necessary.

 

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in student recruiting, marketing or other highly interactive promotional field.

Strong organizational skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, self-motivation and excellent interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word Suite, familiarity with PeopleSoft and Slate, high comfort level with technology and social media, and the ability to analyze and present data effectively.
