This position is responsible for increasing the quantity and quality of applications to, and increasing the enrollment in, each of UIC CUPPA’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs. This position will lead the development and continuous improvement of college recruitment marketing materials and messaging, will represent the college at on- and off-campus recruitment events, and will serve as the liaison to campus recruiting initiatives at the graduate and undergraduate level.


  • Support the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in developing and executing a recruiting and marketing strategy for the college’s programs. This strategy is designed to attract top students and ensure that each incoming class meets the size, quality, diversity and financial goals established by the school.
    Work with college and department staff to develop and maintain high quality marketing materials and recruitment presentations that communicate the strengths of the college’s degree programs to prospective students, parents, and others. Develop and maintain an innovative social media presence for the college in support of student recruitment.
    Lead the development of college-specific recruitment programming including open houses, information sessions, and webinars. Represent CUPPA at on- and off-campus student recruitment events and programs. Work with departmental and college staff and UIC’s recruitment team to set targets and develop an annual calendar for recruitment activities.
    Serve as an information resource for and respond to inquiries from prospective students through various mediums (e.g. individual appointments, telephone, email and social networking).
    Actively participate in special event and program planning and implementation.
    Represent CUPPAon various college- and campus-wide recruitment committees and initiatives.
    Track and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and enhancements.
    Supervise, train, and support student workers and alumni volunteers as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. Master’s Degree in urban planning, public administration, public policy, higher education, or closely related field preferred.

A minimum of two years’ experience in student counseling, admissions, and/or UIC undergraduate or graduate campus involvement or leadership.

Demonstrated experience with developing and managing social media and electronic mass communication campaigns.

Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Experience with public service curricula and students preferred.

Working knowledge of SLATE preferred.
