Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for planning and coordinating admissions activities in the Greater Texas area to further support the University’s recruitment efforts in that region. This position is home-based in Dallas or Houston out of the employee’s home office and may require frequent travel. This position is responsible for independently ensuring the goals and objectives of the projects or programs are accomplished in accordance with priorities, timelines, funding limitations or other specifications.

Essential Duties

  • Formulate and implement recruitment strategies, plans and goals for the region based on demographic analyses, market research and other admissions data.
  • Develop working knowledge of ASU campuses and programs, policies and procedures.
  • Monitor admission activity in critical markets and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Prepare statistical reports and analyses.
  • Work with management team and supervisor to evaluate effectiveness of recruitment plan.
  • Coordinate region’s recruitment activities to include up to eight weeks of travel with evening and weekend work expected to cover events and recruitment activities.
  • Communicate information about ASU’s admission requirements to prospective students, families, guidance counselors, community-based organizations, and alumni volunteers.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with prospective students via phone and email communication.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors and other school, agency and community officials in the region.
  • Participate in professional organization and professional development activities within the region.
  • Travel to Arizona three to four times yearly for training and retreat activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience with student recruitment and admission practices.
  • Experience in organizing work of others and self.
  • Experience in program design and development.
  • Experience in strategic planning and decision-making principles and procedures.
  • Experience in organizational management and prioritizing for effective and efficient use of time and resources.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
