Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm with occasional nights and weekends

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

Job Description

OU Admissions & Recruitment works to bring in the next generation of Sooners. Our team operates

from Norman as well as across the state, nation and world. We provide support to incoming domestic

and international freshman and transfer students as they navigate the college application and decision

process. Additionally, we partner with parents, counselors, and communities in providing resources to

students interested in higher education. Our goal is to build a vibrant, inclusive community on campus

by recruiting students with diverse backgrounds, educational experiences, and involvement.


We're currently looking for a new team member in our Chicago office to serve as an Admissions

Counselor. We need someone who can: EXCEED EXPECTATIONS Part of our mission is to go above and

*This position is based in a home office in the Chicago area.*


Job Requirements


Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience,


 0-24 months recruitment experience


 Proficient in Microsoft Office

 Must have exceptional communication skills, both written and oral and strong public speaking


 Must be able to work successfully with a diverse group of students, parents, faculty and staff

 Must be highly organized; able to work independently and establish and meet deadlines while

working with a high volume of assignments

 Strong analytical skills required

 Must value being part of a team and be able to work in partnership with others

 Must have a professional manner and appearance

 You will meet with prospective students, families, alumni, and high school counselors at events

which will take place at schools, designated locations, college fairs and on campus


 Valid driver's license to attend meetings

 Must be able to pull, push, lift, engage in repetitive motions, communicate, including expressing

oneself or exchanging information with others; see, including color, depth perception and

clarity; and hear, including receiving detailed information orally.

Departmental Preferences:

 Experience in higher education

 Knowledge of OU

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
