Summary:

The Golden Apple Foundation Manager of Recruitment and Scholar Support is responsible for the management of efforts to recruit applicants to the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program and will manage, as assigned, other aspects of the program.

Reports to: Golden Apple Foundation Director of Scholar Recruitment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with K-12 sources (school districts, schools, school leaders, counselors and key nominators) to recruit highly qualified and diverse candidates for the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program
  • Create and maintain relationships with community colleges and universities across Illinois in collaboration with the Director of Academic and Social Supports
  • Develop and manage recruitment strategies and processes to generate applications from qualified candidates to meet goals for volume and quality
  • Attend, schedule and determine coverage for campus visits, career fairs and information sessions throughout Illinois
  • Implement strategies to reach prospective candidates via the internet, text, and other sources
  • Support the selection process for Scholars
  • Support the transition of newly inducted Scholars into the program during the appropriate Summer Institute(s)
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor the applicant flow through the admissions process and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned by the GAF Director of Recruitment or President

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively verbally and in-writing with team members and management
  • Possess clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, ability to follow processes and attention to detail
  • Strong computer and Internet proficiency, including Microsoft Office, social media tools and database applications (i.e., FileMaker Pro, AcademicWorks, MightySite Knowledge desired)
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude including drive for results and proven ability to stay focused on goals
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced, quick turnaround environment
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license
